James and I are very blessed to be a part of an awesome group of moms that truly live in community with each other. Our church has given us so many wonderful opportunities to grow as parents and friends. This past Monday our little play group decided to go to the Fort Worth Science Museum. Although we are not members (yet), we were able to get in for free, which is awesome! James is at the age where he really just wants to run around. His attention span is very limited, but he did enjoy playing in the grocery store area, playing in the ambulance, and playing with his friends. I tried to teach him how to hold the baby dolls or maybe even just lay them down, but he had no interest at all. I'm already feeling really sorry for baby #2. Lets just hope he doesn't throw him/her around like he did the fake dolls, yikes.

James is 18 Months Old, Oh My!
I can not believe that my little baby is already a year and a half...that seems so old. We are loving this stage of life that James is in right now. He is so much fun and really seems to understand so much of what we say. I think this is the stage where I can officially say that he is changing from a baby to a little boy. Man I love that kid. Here are a few pictures from a little photo shoot we had to remember what 18 months looked like.
James has been learning his colors lately. It is the cutest thing to hear him say "yellow". I know, I know, I am such a mom...but it really is the cutest, sweetest thing.
The series below is when he ran and hid behind an air conditioning unit. He got so excited when Jerimiah finally found him. This is a typical day at our house. I'm constantly looking for him in little spaces. He has actually given me a scare a few times because I couldn't find him!
Here he is singing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" song. This was the "up came the sun and dried up all the rain" part. He loves this song!
Here we have James doing a little dance with Elmo. It's really crazy how much he loves this little red monster, but he does...oh he does.

James loves to hide from us. In the picture below James is trying to hide his face from Jerimiah. I think he thinks that he magically disappears when he puts his face down.

Finger Painting
James is a BIG fan of the finger paints. He usually brings me the paints and tries to climb in his chair to show me he is ready to paint. I love that he is already loving the arts!
Cake Baking
Ever since I bought James the Elmo's World DVDs for Christmas life has not been the same for our little man. He is pretty much obsessed with that little red monster. It really is so amusing to see how attached he is to Elmo. We don't currently have cable, so this is his one and only moment to watch a kid type show. One of the episodes on Elmo's World was about birthdays. They had a little boy and his dad make a birthday cake for his mom. James has been saying "cake" alot lately, so I decided (on a slow, rainy day) that it was time to teach James how to bake a cake. Below is our experience. It was so much fun. James especially loved making the frosting and eating the frosting, ha! I love that kid of mine!!
As you can see he had alot of fun and made a pretty decent mess. Oh well, that's just the way it goes.
Yes, those are Christmas pj's. They still fit and they look really cute on him so I say keep em!
We did a little light house work while we waited for the cake to finish baking. I am training my child to clean my house and make me cakes...some day this is going to be awesome!
